Not available on Amazon

It’s a sign of the times that some of the most interesting PC games of 2009 (so far) can’t even be bought or reviewed on Amazon UK. I’m thinking of The Path; Plants vs. Zombies; The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition; Launch of the Screaming Narwhal; Emote’s free-to-try The Hunter, and a number of indie point ‘n click adventure games. I’m sure Amazon will be shovelling PC boy-games such as The Saboteur and Assassin’s Creed II (one of them has to be good) out of the door by the million come November, but they seem to be missing out on a chunk of the download and indie scene at the moment. Does Amazon UK need a full-range Steam-like games download service in order to compete? Or should Amazon just buy Steam?
